A holiday-home idea born from mummy chaos
Once the children came along, I swapped my landscaping business for family life. We wanted to explore the UK with two little ones, but finding somewhere clean, safe, comfortable, well equipped and genuinely child friendly felt almost impossible.
So I set about making the sort of place I had been looking for, and found a new passion alongside mummy duties.
Thoughtful hosting, by Paula
I started my hosting career in 2016 in Manchester, with a three-bedroom holiday home. When my family moved to Chester, Enjoy the Pause opened its doors in 2019.
I check the cleaning, prepare the house for your arrival, share favourite restaurants and help arrange any agreed enhancements. You have a real person to ask when a detail matters, but the home is yours to settle into during the stay.

Every time you arrive the house will be immaculate: fresh linen, a warm welcome and everything stocked ready for you.
If you need me I am a WhatsApp message away, and I try to answer quickly.
And if something is not right, I will fix it. No awkward conversation needed, just sorted.
The company behind the stay
Enjoy the Pause is owned and managed by Paula. Everything from the housekeeping to the safety checks is handled by a small team of local professionals she chose herself, and you have her directly on WhatsApp for the whole of your stay.
This is not a managed portfolio. It is one home, cared for by one host, her family and a handful of trusted people.
