Why Paula asks for this.
Anyone providing accommodation has to record the name and nationality of every guest aged 16 or over, and a passport or identity document number for guests who are not British, Irish or Commonwealth citizens. Those records are kept for twelve months and shown only if the police or the Home Office ask for them.
